If there is an essential combatant in any Scions of Kurgan band, it is the Shaman. Regardless of your having a list with a high magic power or not, the power provided by even only one Shaman will be essential to your band. If you do not have any other sorcerer, he will provide a not inconsiderable defence against the enemy’s magical attacks. If you have chosen a sorcerer cult band, the Shaman’s power will help you to use your Dowsers or Sull more effectively. They are very vulnerable in hand-to-hand and, to be true, his only spell is not exactly suitable for ranged attacks. A band with Sull Mindripper, two or three Dowsers and at least one Shaman in its ranks will be able to overcome any enemy it is facing, even though it does not have an avatar.
Not only his power contribution will be useful to friendly sorcerers, but they also have special staffs which may damage the enemy from a distance.
