The World Eaters are one of the most feared and violent legions in the universe of Warhammer 40,000. Once a proud Space Marine Legion created by the Emperor of Mankind, they eventually became devoted followers of the Chaos God Khorne, the god of war, rage, and bloodshed.
The legion was led by their primarch, Angron, a brutal warrior who had been enslaved as a gladiator before being reunited with his legion. Scarred by his past and implanted with the torture-inducing cybernetic devices known as the Butcher's Nails, Angron lived in constant rage. These implants drove him and eventually much of his legion into uncontrollable bloodlust.
Over time, the World Eaters adopted the same implants, turning them into relentless close-combat fighters who cared little for tactics or restraint. Their reputation for brutality grew during the Horus Heresy, when Angron and his legion turned against the Imperium and joined the rebellion of Horus Lupercal.
Following the heresy, the World Eaters fully embraced Khorne’s worship. Discipline and structure collapsed, leaving the legion fragmented into warbands of berserk warriors who live only for battle. Their armies are filled with frenzied fighters such as Khorne Berserkers, warriors who charge into combat with chain axes and roaring fury, seeking skulls for their god.
Today, the World Eaters roam the galaxy as unstoppable engines of destruction, spreading carnage wherever they go in the name of Khorne. To them, war is not simply a duty it is a sacred act of devotion. Bloodshed is worship, and every battlefield is an altar to their god.
