A 1st rate ship of the line bearing a unique draught for her size and time, Royal Sovereign carried 100 guns and weighed in at just under a 2200 ton displacement, making her considerably lighter than her sister ship, the HMS Victory, but no less potent on the front line.
Royal Sovereign lead a 2nd fleet alongside Victory during the battle of Trafalger, where both her and her commander earned their stripes against more heavily armed vessels, and surviving well into the 1840s.
Her broadside was nothing to be sniffed at, especially when helmed by Admiral Collingwood!
