The noisome water-serpent, the Hydra named Tygandr from history, has plagued the swamps and mires of Khthon for thousands of years and will do so until the end of time, some say; for no man or beast can kill it, nor escape it once its wrath has been raised. A monstrous, many-headed thing, thickly armoured along the spine of its wyrm-like body with claws and teeth that can rip open the finest of armour, Tygandr is a creature of darkness with no regard for life or the living. Its will is paid with the blood of innocents, for through such sacrifice can those who dare to live close sleep safe in their beds; the alternative is to be hunted, to be dragged back to the Hydra\'s lair and slowly eaten alive, an appalling death that none should suffer regardless of their crimes.
