Formula D Product Description

Formula D brings the excitement of racing to the home. Whether it\'s Formula One racing or street racing, the thrills of the track and burning rubber is all here in Formula D.

A reproduction and update of the classic Formula De board game, Formula D brings the time-worn mechanics back with updated rules and new street racing options.

With a simplified beginners ruleset and optional rules to include tire types, weather, pit stops and street racing, Formula D brings multiple levels of complexity to suit any game group.

In Formula D, the principle of the game is simple. Speed is controlled by the shifting of gears. Cars have six gears, corresponding to one of six dice you roll for movement. In first gear, you roll the die that lets you move one or two spaces; by sixth gear you are rolling a d30. In addition, the dice in Formula D are unique to the game - the 12-sided die for fourth gear will only roll 7-12, for instance, so you always have a range of possible movement depending on your choice of gears.

Like all racing games, the turns in Formula D are highly important. In Formula D, players must stop a pre-determined number of times within each turn or risk wearing their tires down. To complete a turn successfully, you\'ll need to either plan your turns in advance or use your brakes furiously which will down your car.

Formula D also introduces car customisation on the normal tracks, allowing players to alter the cars to their play styles and the weather.

As a new addition, street racing rules are added to Formula D. These rules alter the game completely, from offering different cars and drivers with special abilities to additional points from police stations and new hazards and toys like Nitro.

Overall, Formula D continues to be one of the most popular, thrilling racing games on the board game market.
