Welcome to the latest Element Legends Warhammer 40,000 DOUBLES event! This one-day tournament is designed for newer players, or those who are new to the 40K tournament scene, though more experienced players are welcome as well! Prizes will not only be given for the best competitors, but also for sportsmanship and hobby prowess!
***GW have just dropped a new data slate with a raft of new points and rules changes (Wednesday)! Yeyyyy!
WE WILL BE USING THE NEW UPDATES for the event this weekend.
This decision is mainly driven by the fact that many of us are using the 40k App for reference, this will be updated by GW automatically with the new points/rules, and this leaves us little choice but to react to the new reality.
Obviously this means you are likely to need to review and adjust your army list for this event, and we are pushing back the ARMY LIST SUBMISSION DEADLINE TO MIDNIGHT THIS FRIDAY.
ALL TICKET HOLDERS AS OF MIDDAY WEDNESDAY HAVE BEEN SENT AN UPDATE EMAIL REGARDING THIS.
***THIS TICKET GRANTS ENTRY TO A PAIR OF TWO PLAYERS***
This event will be 3 x 3hr rounds using the most recent UKTC Mission & Terrain pack and UKTC terrain sets on each table, so there will be an identical terrain layout and a good amount of obscuring cover to ensure balanced, fun games.
Each round will use the most recent UKTC missions, and we'll be playing Mission 3, 4, and 5 from this pack.
***Army list SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 12TH*** - Teams that miss this deadline will incur a penalty to their first, second and third games scores of -5 victory points.

Prizes will be in the form of Element Games gift vouchers, and will be available for 1st, 2nd, 3rd placed teams and Best Opponents, and Best Painted Army (I.E. Best Painted single 1,000pt force in event).
What to Bring:
-Each Team should bring an army of no more than 2000 points, made up of 2 x 1,000 point forces.
-All your dice, tape measures, tokens etc, and any rules needed for your army.
-Access to the Best Coast Pairings App (If you don’t have a smart device, we can input lists etc. for you manually).
-A positive attitude!
Rules:-
-PARTNERS MAY NOT USE THE SAME FACTIONS.
-THE SAME DATASHEET CANNOT BE INCLUDED IN BOTH PLAYERS ARMIES. Eg. Nick and Sean are both attending with Space Marine armies (Dark Angels + Blood Angels). Nick has chosen to take two Predators as part of his 1000 points. This means Sean cannot take a predator within his 1000 point army.
-PLAYERS CANNOT SHARE POINTS.
-ANY UNIQUE UNITS CAN ONLY BE INCLUDED ONCE IN A TEAM.
-EACH PLAYER CHOOSES A WARLORD FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL 1000 POINT ARMY.
-EACH RELIC AND WARLORD TRAIT IS UNIQUE AND CAN ONLY BE TAKEN ONCE PER TEAM.
-REINFORCEMENT POINTS APPLY TO A PLAYER, NOT THE WHOLE TEAM. For example, if player A has 200 reinforcement points set aside, player B does NOT have access to them.
-PLAYERS CANNOT BUFF OR BLESS THEIR PARTNERS FORCE, OR TARGET THEIR PARTNERS FORCE WITH STRATAGEMS. THE TWO HALVES FIGHT INDEPENDENTLY WITH THE SHARED GOAL OF WINNING THE GAME AGAINST THEIR OPPONENTS.
-EACH TEAM RECEIVES ONE COMMAND POINT IN THE TEAMS COMMAND PHASE. TEAMS ACCUMULATE SHARED COMMAND POINTS AND DECIDE ON THEIR USAGE AS A TEAM.
-PROXY MODELS ARE PERMITTED PROVIDING IT IS CLEAR TO YOUR OPPONENTS WHAT THEY REPRESENT.
-FORGEWORLD MODELS ARE PERMITTED.
-LEGENDS MODELS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
Doubles Gameplay Rules:-
Some aspects of a mission or gameplay will change for a Doubles event. Here are the key changes to keep in mind:
• During your games, change all references of “player” to “team”. So anything that is once per player is once per team etc.
• The same Stratagem cannot be used more than once during the same phase.
• Psychic Focus: As each psychic power can be attempted only once per turn, this would also apply to the whole Team.
• Deployment: During deployment teams alternate deploying, and each team deploys two units (one per player) to speed up set up.
• Teams will select their Secondary Objectives as a team.
PAINTING STANDARD: ARMIES DO NOT HAVE TO BE FULLY PAINTED for this event, but teams with fully painted armies (3-colour minimum) will be awarded the 10 bonus points per round, and prizes will be available for the best painted army, as voted for by attendees.
