Perhaps the best use of Reaver Tribesmen is their ability to pull down enemies and eat them alive! This is especially devastating against high-point elites who are easily overwhelmed by large units of Reavers.
For this reason they are best fielded in units of 8 to 10 models, but even a core unit may provide a useful sacrifice.
