Aida (full name: AIDAblu) is a modern passenger ship, the so-called a cruise ship, built in Germany, but serving under the Italian flag. The vessel was launched in 2009, and it entered service a year later (2010). The total length of the ship is 253.3 meters with a width of 32.2 meters. Gross tonnage amounts to approx. 71,000 GT. The ship\'s crew consists of 607 people. AIDAblu was ordered in 2006 by the shipping line Costa Crociere SpA, based in Genoa, Italy, at the Meyer Werft facilities in Germany. The ship belongs to the Sphinx IV type. It is undoubtedly a large vessel that has as many as 15 decks and is able to accommodate up to 2050 passengers. It also has 6 restaurants, 10 bars, and even a large wellness room. It is also the first cruise ship in the world to have its own restaurant brewery. The estimated cost of building AIDAbl was approximately EUR 420 million.
