FSA infantry units are often accompanied by Forward Observers, specially trained officers detached from heavy artillery units. Equipped with powerful radio communications gear, the F.O can quickly call down devastating artillery strikes as directed by the commander on the ground. This massive firepower is often a key weapon when facing enemy armour and fortified positions, or if an infantry platoon is heavily outnumbered by attacking opponents.
