Many of the Darlime's inhabitants think that The Assassins' Guild is only a legend, a fairy tale told to frighten children, nothing more than stories that drunk adventurers shout trying to impress their fellow men. Ovreuc, the leader of that guild, prefers it this wat. He is considered as the best assassin of Darlime even before he joined the Newborns.
He himself teaches the members of his guild the Ziech's martial art, a set of techniques that are unknown to most of the Darlime inhabitants and that, according to rumours, can only be taught by him since he is the only master alive. These techniques transform his assassins not only into silent shadows able to approach the enemy lines and cross them without being noticed, but into expert warriors fighting in an exotic but effective style. The Ziech techniques allow for a small group of people to infiltrate any fortress or city, reach a target and kill them while keeping silent, to dissappear right after that into thin air. The Assassins' Guild gives the Newborns a highly valuable belic advantage since the assassins ambush and stab the enemies while most of their fellows cause substantial damage at a safe distance.
When joining battle, Ovreuc usually goes with Rabe, a small homuncule expert in military strategies, quite stealth and efficient when coordinating combatants in the rear, since Ovreuc usually crosses the enemy lines while searching the best possible target.
The Scions of Kurgan, The Mercenary Women of Isha, the Adepts of Malesur as well as the Saul's Order have set a reward for Oveuc, either dear or alive. However, The Legion of the One Hundred Hearts is the one offering the highest reward for this assassin. According to rumours, Nirlem the Paladin and Ovreuc have an unsolved problem, something that can only be solved with the death of any of them. Rumours also suggest that, except for Nirlem the Paladin, none of Ovreuc's enemies has survived a fight against him. This is why he is cale 'The Last Face.'
