Welcome to Element Games North West Team Challenge for X-wing!
A Team is made up of 3 individuals each flying a different faction. Each round your team will be paired off against a rival team, and through a pairing process the 2 sets of pilots will be paired against one another so we have 3 games being fought. Although these are individual games the combined result determines the teams result, and whichever team wins 2 or more games wins the round!
At the end of the event the team that wins the most rounds wins the North West Team Challenge!

BASIC TOURNAMENT RULES
The NWTC will use the Official X-wing Rules and Tournament Regulations as found here:
https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/x-wing/
With the following additions:
* The NWTC is a team event with each team comprised of 3 players
* Each player on a team must field a different faction. So 1 player will fly Imperial, 1 will fly Rebel and 1 will fly Scum & Villany.
* Each team must nominate a Team Captain who will be the Point of Contact and be responsible for all admin for the team
* Each team must come up with a Team name which they can collectively be referred by before and during the event (clean but funny recommended!)
* Each round teams will be paired against each other not individual players
* But the 3 matches between 2 team will determine the round result (a team winning 2 or more games in a match up wins the round!).
ROUND PAIRINGS
The first Round of the event will be a random draw with Rounds 2 onwards being drawn on a Swiss system (1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th and so on). Once the Round draw is announced the teams will be assigned to a row containing three 3x3 x-wing mats and one empty table for admin, trays and other storage. A team will never be matched against the same team twice
When both teams are at the row they should greet each other and exchange lists (full disclosure). Once both teams have had a couple of minutes to look over the opposing lists they should begin the pairing process.
First determine which team has initiative (this is done like normal except compare the values of all 3 lists in each team). In the event of a tie roll of as normal with one team choosing hits & crits.
The Team with initiative gets to choose whether they are Team A, or Team B in the process
Step 1 Team A nominates a player on their team and picks a player on Team B to play against
Step 2 Team B nominates 1 of their remaining 2 players to players and pick 1 of the remaining 2 players on Team A to play against
Step 3 The last player on each Team will play against each other.
As tables are neutral it doesnt really matter who plays on which as long as
ROUND TIMING
Once the round is announced there will be 15 minutes to find your row, exchange lists, pair and set-up. Once the TO is happy the majority of the room is set-up and ready to go the Round timer will be started. We will be playing 75 minute rounds.
When time is called finish the round and determine the winner of each game as normal (found in the X-Wing Tournament Regulations). There are no draws so Final Salvo will be used in the case of Mutual Destruction or Identical Scores being achieve.
TOURNAMENT SCORING
When a Team wins 2 out of 3 games in a round, they win the round.
Winning a round earns a team 1 Tournament point, a loss earns 0 points.
The team with the most Tournament points at the end of the event wins the event.
Combined MOV (Margin of Victory) will be used as the first Tie-break with Strength of Schedule being used as the 2nd.
In the event of an odd number of Teams a Bye will be awarded to one team each round. This team receives 1 Tournament point for a round win and a MOV of 450.
